Suspensions handed down after brawl
LEAGUE: The Bundaberg Rugby League has come down hard on those involved in the brawl between Easts and Wests on Saturday.
All up, five players have been suspended. All have the option to appeal the outcome.
Hardest hit were Easts' Bennett Otineru and Wests' Cory Beetson who have both been suspended for four matches which falls to three with an early guilty plea.
They will be joined by Easts' Tyrone Ward and Wests players Corey and Josh Tanner who have been given three-game bans which fall to two with an early guilty plea.
BRL chairman Mike Ireland said the suspension should get the word out that brawls were not tolerated in the competition, especially with young kids watching the game.
