Swap it for a new outfit all in the name of charity
NEED to revamp your wardrobe, but a little short on cash?
Then be sure to pencil in the annual Clothes Swap 4 Charity, to be held at Maryborough's Brolga Theatre on July 27.
Organiser Chelsie Dolfin-Bicanic said it was the perfect opportunity for Fraser Coast women to dress up, enjoy a night out and pick up a new outfit or two.
"When you donate clothes, you are given tokens to use to swap for other clothing," she said.
"All the donated clothes are available to look through when you arrive.
"It's a great, cheap way to revamp your wardrobe, while being environmentally conscious at the same time."
Ms Dolfin-Bicanic said the clothes swap this year would feature brand new bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, flowergirl dresses and men's suits that had been donated by local businesses.
"A budget-conscious bride would be able to deck out her whole wedding party - or someone attending a debutante ball or formal could find a bargain.
"Local businesses will be showcasing bridal wear, wedding decorations, photography and cake making."
The event will include silent and live auctions, a fashion parade, a guest speaker, music, a dinner and prizes.
All money raised will go towards the Cambodian Children's Trust, a non-government organisation that runs community projects to provide sustainable skills to the residents of Batambang.
"We are so happy to provide a fun, girls' night out in Maryborough to help raise money for such a life-changing organisation," Ms Dolfin-Bicanic said.
The Clothes Swap 4 Charity will start at 6.30pm.
Tickets are $45 each from the Brolga Theatre.
