Swimmers aim to qualify

RACING in Maryborough’s regional swimming carnival kicked off yesterday but the real action will be in the pool today when swimmers from around the state come to try to compete for a place in the upcoming state titles.

Swimming will start from 8am this morning and will continue until 4pm.

Maryborough swimming coach Adrian Williams said that several distance races were completed at Maryborough Aquatic Centre yesterday but there will still be plenty to see when the swimmers compete today.

A variety of age groups will race today with children as young as 7 competing, all the way up to 20 plus age groups.

The regional event is the second last chance for Queensland swimmers to qualify for the state titles.
