TAFE's Hervey Bay Arts Department is under review

A REVIEW of the TAFE Hervey Bay Arts Department is under way following the merger of Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast TAFEs.

"With regards to Hervey Bay Arts Department, we are currently reviewing delivery of programs, as the program was offered last year and enrolments were less than expected," TAFE Queensland East Coast general manager Leeza Boyce said.

TAFE Queensland East Coast has committed to meeting education demands but stopped short of guaranteeing that all Fraser Coast courses and staff will be kept.

"The programs offered at the Maryborough and Hervey Bay campuses will continue to be determined by local demand," Ms Boyce said.

"We are committed to our local community and will continue to offer our students the courses they want to study.

"This will also determine the make-up of our workforce, as we focus on meeting the needs of our students and providing the programs that our local community demands."
