Teachers vent their anger
TEACHERS and principals are rallying opposite Member for Hervey Bay Ted Sorensen's office today to show their frustrations at the breakdown of enterprise bargaining negotiations.
The move follows a similar event outside the office of Maryborough MP Anne Maddern last month and numerous other rallies across the state recently.
Queensland Teachers Union deputy general secretary Greg Purches will be at the event.
He said QTU members had organised the rally because the Queensland Government had made only one offer during lengthy enterprise bargaining negotiations.
He claimed that offer aimed to strip away protection for more than 20 working and learning conditions. The rally will begin at 4pm at 357 the Esplanade, Scarness.
