Team wins medal at state champs

A TEAM of eight girls from Hervey Bay's Physical Culture Club travelled to Brisbane for the Queensland Championships recently and placed fourth in their section.

It was the club's first time at the championships and bringing home a medal was a great reward for all their hard work.

“It is a real credit to the girls as they have worked really hard since May,” organiser Sally McTrick said.

“The girls had to perform six synchronised dances.

“There were clubs from all over Queensland competing.”

Physical culture is a growing sport on the Fraser Coast.

The club recently held its end-of-year club competition and they will be looking forward to a new year of competition and fun in 2011.
