Teen schoolgirls among women 'upskirted'

TEENAGE schoolgirls, travelling on buses and trains, have been targeted by a man taking pictures of women up their skirts.

Detectives from the Wynnum Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) are investigating numerous alleged incidents of 'up-skirting' on public transport in the Capalaba, Cleveland and Manly.

Detective Sergeant Adam Pascoe of Wynnum CPIU said detectives continue to investigate reports of a man inappropriately taking images of women.

He believes there may be a number of victims, some being teenage school girls.

"We would like to speak to anyone who believes a man may have filmed or attempted to film or take inappropriate images of them on either buses or trains in the Capalaba, Cleveland and Manly areas between April and June of this year.

"We believe the most likely targets were teenage girls, some on their way to and from school," he said.

Detectives have released an image of a blue back pack which police hope someone may recognise. Detectives wish to speak to the teenage girl who was carrying it at Manly on June 22.

The backpack is believed to be manufactured by a European company, Fjall Raven
