Tell your tastebuds to get ready for Relish
FRASER Coast residents and visiting guests are gearing up for another spectacular Relish Food and Wine Festival this weekend.
Cooking demonstrations, wine and beer tasting and stalls will be spread around Queens Park in Maryborough this Saturday, June 4.
Relish Food and Wine Festival started in 2012 as a small group of restaurateurs presenting their cooking abilities through live demonstrations, with minimal stallholders and little representation from local food outlets.
Fast-forward four years and Relish has become one of Queensland's must-do experiences, highlighted on many calendars across the country.
In 2016 inspiration will be in abundance with the region's finest chefs in action at the Food Lovers Marquee, using only the best of what the Fraser Coast has to offer.
Mara and Rocco from Villa Cavour, Hajime Horiguchi and Nick Street Brown from Coast Restaurant and Bar, Saul Collins from The Vinyard, Dan and Steph from Eat at Dan and Steph's, and Gavan Chin from The Federal Hotel are among this year's local talent.
Coast Restaurant and Bar owner Julia Paussa said the festival had grown into an important opportunity to recognise our talented local chefs, but it was the stunning location that made the festival so captivating.
"It's such a beautiful way to showcase Maryborough," she said.
Adding to the local flavour at the Food Lovers Marquee will be celebrity chef Matt Golinski, who will be showcasing an outsider's perspective on using the fresh, Fraser Coast produce.
The festival starts at 10am Saturday at Queens Park, Maryborough. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the gate.
