The Flash S2E12: Fast Lane preview

*spoilers ahead if you haven't seen season two episode 11*

PREVIEW: The challenge for The Flash is maintain its strong momentum.

Last week's The Reverse-Flash Returns was one of the best episodes of the season so far.

It packed in so much action and so much story that there was barely moment to rest.

The downside of this is it can make the following episodes look empty, which is the biggest hurdle Fast Lane faces.

The debut of Tar Pit (Joey Monteleone, played by Marco Grazzini) should be a sight to behold.

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) will be forced to work together for a solution, and given Wells' predicament (the one where Zoom kidnapped his daughter and is forcing him to find a way to steal The Flash's speed), will be tantalising to see unfold.

Meanwhile the Wests will continue to learn more about each other.

This time Iris (Candice Patton) is trying to get closer to estranged brother Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), though the latter's life decisions (i.e. street racing) has caused its own problems.

Wally had his own run-ins with dad Joe (Jesse L.Martin) last week, so now it is Iris' turn.

A few more things:

- Jay Garrick's (Teddy Sears) Earth-1 doppelganger was revealed to be Hunter Zolomon during last week's episode. Zolomon is the identity of Zoom in the comics - will the TV show follow the same arc or go a completely different direction?

- Patty Spivot's (Shantel VanSanten) departure was upsetting, but after she tricked Barry into revealing himself as The Flash I wouldn't be surprised if she'll pop up again.

The Flash airs Wednesdays at 6.30pm (AEST) on Fox 8 (Channel 108).
