IT'S no secret that the way to a girl's heart is through the approval of her best friend.

So with just a few days to go until the season finale of The Bachelorette, Sophie Monk's BFF Oscar Gordon has sparked plenty of feverish speculation after appearing to give away a big clue about the winner.

Everyone had pretty much handed the title to Stu Laundy weeks ago, but a cheeky move by Oscar on Instagram has pointed to a different outcome. He recently started following hunky 24-year-old magician Apollo Jackson - but not Laundy or the other top-three contestant, Jarrod Woodgate.

It could mean Apollo's already been given the seal of approval from the former Bardot star's best friend - or even that Sophie had introduced the pair.

If the theory pans out, it'll spell a major twist in this season of The Bachelorette.

Stu has been the frontrunner since before he even appeared on the show, with whispers of a "rich publican" turning up as an intruder circulating well ahead of his arrival.

Luke McLeod, an early favourite who shocked everyone with his elimination, has even suggested the decision to boot him out was made so Sophie could focus on Stu.

"There was obviously guys who came into the house and I noticed almost straight away that there was a connection with one of them, and maybe she just wanted to remove someone out of the picture to not complicate things too much so she could focus on developing a relationship with that person," he said at the time.

Either way, fans won't have to wait much longer for the big reveal: Sophie will hand out her final rose during what's sure to be an emotionally-charged season finale later this week.

The Bachelorette airs Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on Ten.
