THE search continues for two men who tried to abduct a teenage girl in Hervey Bay.

No arrests had been made by Monday afternoon however investigations into the attempted abduction of the teenager, 15, in Torquay last Wednesday were continuing.

According to information released police, the men moved on the girl at 8am on Bideford St and tried to get her into a white van that had black roof racks.

The girl fled on her bike and the men chased on foot before returning to their van.

The attack happened the day before Brett Cowan was found guilty of abducting and murdering Sunshine Coast schoolboy Daniel Morcombe.

One of the men (pictured in the comfit) was described as Caucasian, in his 30s, tanned complexion and short brown hair with a scar across his left eye.

Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the man.
