The Waves smash the KSS Jets

FOOTBALL: The Waves coach Jason De Papi has praised striker Mitch Aslett for his start to the season in the Wide Bay League.

Aslett scored his second straight hat-trick on Saturday to help the side beat the KSS Jets 6-1 at home and keep them unbeaten in the league.

He now has six goals in the league.

"It's a credit to himself how much he has improved," De Papi said.

"A change in position and time on pitch has done wonders for him."

De Papi was also surprised by how well his side played.

"The passing was spot on and we scored three goals in 15 minutes," he said.

"Our defence and midfield worked well as well and I was impressed with the way they moved."

The Waves will now prepare to take fellow unbeaten side Brothers Aston Villa this week.
