TOMBOLA

Where: Maryborough Pensioner's Hall, 84 Adelaide St, Maryborough.

What: Enjoy prizes, a free afternoon tea, raffles and lucky door gifts to raise money for the Cancer Council Relay for Life in Maryborough.

RING THE BELLS

When: Suitably convenient time, but ring to book.

Where: St Paul's Bell Tower, Cnr Lennox and Ellena Sts, Maryborough.

What: Ring the bells with your family and friends at the St Paul's Bell Tower.

Cost: $5 per person. To book, ring 4121 5920.

 

CHRISTMAS SHOP

When: Saturday, 8.30am-3pm and Sunday 9.30am-2pm, plus Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm.

Where: Maryborough Plaza Shopping Centre, Bazaar St, Maryborough.

What: Pick up wooden toys, homewares, hand-made soaps, garden art, crochet, dressed dolls and more from the shop hosted by Maryborough Heritage Combined Crafts.

Cost: Free to look.

 

GOODS WHEEL

When: Saturday, 7pm.

Where: The Stage, Scarness

What: The launch of the annual Ambulance Goods Wheel, which will be held nightly for three weeks throughout Christmas and New Year (except Christmas Day) at The Stage. It has become a local tradition after more than 50 years and is great fun for the whole family. Winning ticket holders get to choose their own prizes.

Cost: Tickets are 50 cents each, with 100 tickets sold per spin.

 

URBAN FARM

When: Saturday, from 7am.

Where: Pier Park, Urangan.

What: This is the last Saturday Pier Up-Market for the year and it's going to be great. Browse more than 100 stalls of food and goods.

Cost: Free.

 

HALL DANCE

When: Saturday, from 7.30pm.

Where: Tinana Dance Hall, beside Schultz Creek on Gympie Road, Tinana.

What: Enjoy live entertainment by High Noon, novelty events, lucky door prizes and a dance put on by the Tinana Dance Club.

Cost: $10 entry.

 

SUNDAY

COUNTRY MARKETS

When: Sunday, 7am.

Where: Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, Maryborough.

What: Check out all the fresh local produce, jumping castle and free entry to the sanctuary.

Cost: Free.

 

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

When: Sunday. Listen to music from 10am onwards.

Where: Scarness Park, Scarness.

What: Wander through stalls and enjoy live entertainment and a sausage sizzle. There will be free rides for the kids, face painting, circus skills, a jumping castle, a merry-go-round and a foam cannon.

Cost: Free.

CAROLS

When: Sunday, dinner from 5.30pm, carols from 7pm.

Where: CWA Hall, 19 Pulgul St, Urangan.

What: The Hervey Bay community is invited to join the Urangan Baptist Church for Carols by Candlelight. Dinner is provided.

Cost: Free.
