Where: Lions Park, Charlton Esplanade, Urangan.
What: It is a 5km run, it is you against the clock. A Christmas box will be handed to the Harris family for Aedan's Crusade. Donations are welcome.
Cost: Free, but register at parkrun.com.au.
When: Today, from 11am.
Where: Enzo's on the Beach, 51a Esplanade, Scarness.
What: Quench your thirst every 400 metres with a beer on a mile-long run. The beer is supplied. A five kilometre swim from the Urangan Pier to Enzo's on the Beach will also take place before at 9am, for those interested.
Cost: $10 to participate. Charity donations accepted.
When: Today and tomorrow, between 10am and 4pm.
Where: Maryborough City Hall, Kent St
What: You'll never look at your backyard the same again after experiencing Backyard Adventure's amazing interactive exhibits. The exhibit is open daily until January 31.
Cost: Adults $12, children 3-16yrs $10, concession/senior $10 family (two adults and up to two children) $34.
When: Saturday, from 8am until 1pm.
Where: Opposite the Torquay Post Office, Torquay.
What: This popular and busy market is located on a tranquil, paved area of the foreshore. There are plenty of stalls offering top quality and unique products.
When: Today and tomorrow, 7pm.
Where: The Stage, Scarness.
What: Enter to win a prize from the Hervey Bay Ambulance Committee Goods Wheel. It has become a local tradition after more than 50 years and is great fun for the whole family. Winning ticket holders get to choose their own prizes.
Cost: Tickets are 50 cents each, with 100 tickets sold per spin.
When: Sunday, 6am.
Where: Hervey Bay Animal Refuge, Nikenbah
What: Items for sale at these very popular markets include arts and crafts, fresh produce, trash and treasure, cakes, jams and much more. The Nikenbah Markets are held to raise much-needed funds to care for the animals at the Hervey Bay Animal Refuge.
STRONG MAN COMP
When: Tomorrow, from 9am. Registrations open at 8.30am.
Where: Physique Fitness, 2/172 Boat Harbour Dr, Pialba.
What: Test your strength with a truck pull, log lift, dead lift, sand bag run, farmers walk and tyre flip. The competition is open to both men and women.
