Saturday

TORQUAY MARKETS

 Saturday, 8am to 2pm

 Where: Torquay Esplanade, opposite the Torquay Post Office.

 What: Wander around to enjoy the stalls and atmosphere while soaking up the sun

 Cost: Free.

 

PIER PARK COMMUNITY MARKETS

When: Saturday from 7am to 1pm.

Where: Pier Park, Urangan.

What: The former Pier Up-Markets are now the Pier Park Community Markets, operating each Saturday in the same location.

Cost: Free.

 

BURRUM MARKETS

When: Saturday, from 7am to 11.30am.

Where: Burrum Heads Community Hall, Howard St.

What: Browse hand made craft, fruit and veg and more.

Cost: Free to browse.

 

TINANA DANCE

When: Saturday, from 7.30 to11.30pm.

Where: Tinana Hall, Gympie Rd.

What: Dance hosted by Dance Promotions Maryborough with High Noon entertainment, raffles, and lucky door. All proceeds to charity.

Cost: Entry is $8.

 

LEGO PLAY

When: Today until April 30, between 10am and 4pm.

Where: Hervey Bay Library.

What: Kids aged four and over can get busy with more than 30,000 pieces of Lego to make Canberra-inspired buildings.

Cost: Free.

 

SEE A CROC

When: Saturday, from 11am to 1pm.

Where: Eli Waters Shopping Centre.

What: Kids can learn about reptiles and do fun activities.

Cost: Free.

 

KIDS MOVE NIGHT

 When: Saturday, 5.30pm.

 Where: Fraser Coast Discovery Sphere, 166 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba.

 What: Take the children along to watch DreamWorks flick How to Train Your Dragon 2. Best dressed prizes will be given out and popcorn, drinks and a sausage sizzle can all be enjoyed.

 Cost: Kids are $4.50 with accompanying adults free. Those aged 15 years plus are $5.50.

 

MANGA DRAWINGS

  When: Saturday, from 10am for ages up to eight and 1pm for those nine up to 14 years.

 Where: Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, 166 Old Maryborough Rd, Pialba.

 What: Kids can watch and learn how to draw comics and animations.

 Cost: $15 non-members and $11 members

 

RACE IN THE BAY

  When: Saturday, from 6.30am.

 Where: Locations along the foreshore in Scarness, Torquay and Urangan.

 What: Sign up for runs of 2, 5 and 10km, a 280 metre ocean swim, open and professional bike races or a beach walk in the Bay Break multi sports volunteer run event. For more, visit http://www.herveybaybreak.com.au. All profits donated to charities.

 Cost: Prices vary from $7.50 to $80 for competition entries.

 

MAKE A ROBOT

  When: Saturday and Sunday, from 11am.

 Where: Australian Geographic, Pialba's Stockland Shopping Centre.

 What: Kids can build their own robot made out of household items to enter a draw to win a $500 real robot.

 Cost: Free.

 

MARTIAL ARTS CHALLENGE

  When: Saturday, from 11am to 2.30pm.

 Where: Hervey Bay PCYC.

 What: Watch about 29 martial arts battles happen in an octagon at the PCYC.

 Cost: $7 for spectators.

 

Sunday

MARTIAL ARTS CENTRE OPENING

  When: Sunday, 11am until 4pm.

 Where: Integrated Martial Arts Well being centre, 87 Islander Rd, Pialba.

 What: Enjoy a barbecue lunch and try out kick-boxing and other fitness activities.

 Cost: Free.

 

KOALA MARKETS

  When: Sunday, 6am.

 Where: Kruger Crt, Urangan.

 What: Browse arts and crafts, fresh produce, trash and treasure, cakes, jams and more.

 Cost: Free entry.

 

FAMILY FUN DAY

  When: Sunday, from 10am to 1pm.

 Where: Panorama Estate at Dundowran Beach.

 What: Look at land lots while the kids enjoy frisbee throwing, digger static displays and a special visit from a children's character.

 Cost: Free.

 

HORSE AND CARRIAGE WATCHING

 When: Sunday, from 10am to noon.

 Where: Maryborough Showgrounds.

 What: Watch about eight horses lead carriages through an obstacle course.

 Cost: Free.
