Third LNG approved for Gladstone

THE State Government has given the green light to the proposed Australia Pacific Liquefied Natural Gas (APLNG) project which could create up to 6000 jobs during phase 1 and up to $35 billion of investment if fully implemented.

This is the third LNG project earmarked for Curtis Island to receive approval by the State Government, with British Gas Group and Santos already receiving Federal Government approval last month.

APLNG will now go to the Federal Government for assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC Act).
