Thousands rally behind little battler Paddy's recovery
UPDATE: THE family of injured five-year-old Patrick O'Sullivan has thanked the community of Toowoomba for their prayers and support.
Patrick, who was injured when thrown from an amusement ride at a school fete at Highfields on Sunday, remains in a stable condition in Brisbane's Mater Children's Hospital.
Patrick's father Barry O'Sullivan Jr said yesterday he was pleased to report Patrick was improving and was ready to move out of intensive care to the ward.
"We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
"We do not wish to make any further comment to the media and we will not be giving any interviews.
"We ask that our privacy is respected while we focus on helping Patrick in his recovery," Mr O'Sullivan said.
EARLIER: HUNDREDS of thousands of people around the world have thrown their support behind little Patrick O'Sullivan and his family as the five-year-old fights back from a tragic amusement ride fall.
More than 10,200 people have liked a post on The Chronicle's Facebook page announcing that Patrick had woken from his coma and started his long recovery.
The post has been shared almost 800 times. It has been seen by more than 150,000 people.
There have been more than 480 comments on the post wishing Patrick and his family all the best in the recovery.
