Police called to deal with threat at Hervey Bay courthouse

POLICE were called to the Hervey Bay Courthouse after a threat was made about 10.30am on Monday.

The Chronicle's court reporter was in the courtroom at the time and was asked to leave while the situation was dealt with.

Uniformed police officers were seen talking to a heavily pregnant woman on the steps of the courthouse.

An additional uniformed police officer sat in the courtroom for about 20 minutes after the threat was made before being dismissed by the police prosecutor.

It is not clear the nature of the threat.
