Three homes broken into in less than 24 hours

POLICE are reminding people to lock their doors after three Urraween and Scarness homes were broken into on Thursday.

Hervey Bay police Constable Belinda Nevelle said a quantity of jewellery was taken from one of the homes overnight.

The first break-in occurred about 1pm on Thursday while the remaining two were occurred overnight on Thursday.

Const Nevelle said the break-ins were on Maike Dr and Gumtree Dr, Urraween and Parkway Dr, Scarness.

"It's a timely reminder for people to lock their homes," she said.

"One of them got in through an unlocked laundry."
