Tiger poll for new flight route

FRASER Coast flyers have beed urged to get online and start voting if they want to see direct flights to Melbourne.

Tiger Airways has launched a survey on its Facebook page to find its next destination.

With the Fraser Coast chasing Tiger for a Melbourne route for years, this is the perfect time to show the airline exactly how much support there is in the region.

The Facebook entry asks people to have their say about where they want Tiger to bring its low fares to next in Australia.

"Voting is open via the link below. Feel free to comment on this post as well. Help us decide http://www.tigerairways.com/au/en/surveys.php."

While the survey results are indicators only to be considered in new route planning, the move has buoyed Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell.

"Council has been pushing for direct flights to Melbourne for some time," he said.

"So now is the time for people to get on line and show support for the idea."
