CRICKET: Tinana break through for first win of season
TINANA were forced to work until the end but have finally broken through for their first win of the season.
Winning the toss and batting first at Hervey Bay's Hauritz Oval, Tinana got off to a terrible start to be 2-3 after three overs.
By the end of the sixth over they were 3-13 and looked to be in serious trouble.
Tinana's batsmen ground their way to 5-61 at the 16th over when youngster Tyler Simpson (63 not out) came to the rescue.

Simpson smashed his first senior half century as he and Terrence Tyack shared a 64-run partnership to save the innings, which ended when Tinana reached 8-188.
Bay Power's chase did not look too dangerous until Dan Poacher's 66 set the scene for a thrilling finish.
Poacher and Damian Oakley powered Bay from 8-116 to 9-172 when Poacher was caught by Simpson off Brad Peers' bowling.
Oakley (15) was stumped five runs later to seal the result.
