Torbanlea races are set to fly

TORBANLEA Picnic Races' bid to become the premier annual event on the Fraser Coast looks to be on right on track.

The only race meeting held in the district each year is now just 15 days away.

Corporate tickets have yet to be advertised, but already the 400 available are all but gone.

"We still have some seats left in the party tent but I would suggest if anyone is interested they should give me a call today," Torbanlea hospitality co-ordinator Peter Chapman said.

"We were planning to promote that we had 40 corporate tables, but now that number is down to just two.

"We are trying to raise the bar this year with a more professional approach to one of the best picnic race meetings in Queensland.

"There is no reason why this can't be a signature event for the Fraser Coast drawing thousands to the district."

One of the big change-ups for the October 20 meeting is the introduction of a $15,000 sprint down the home straight aptly named the Gold Rush.

For further information and corporate bookings for the Torbanlea races, phone Peter Chapman on 4120 1051 or 0423 742 738.
