Tourism Fraser Coast also talking to QR about Bay bookings

TOURISM Fraser Coast is talking to Queensland Rail about issues regarding train travellers trying to get from north Queensland to Hervey Bay.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that travellers from tourism hotspots such as Airlie Beach or Cairns were unable to book tickets to Hervey Bay on the Queensland Rail website.

For train travellers booking from anywhere from Brisbane to Rockhampton, tickets to Hervey Bay can be booked online, with Queensland Rail providing bus transfers for the passengers from the station at Maryborough West.

The council raised the issue with Queensland Rail, concerned the region could be missing out on a large amount of tourism dollars.

Robbie Cornelius from Tourism Fraser Coast said he had now added his voice to the issue.

"Tourism Fraser Coast has raised this issue with Queensland Rail, and we have been advised that they are currently dealing with the issue," he said.
