Boy's tragic farm accident death shatters rural district

A SMALL farming community is mourning the tragic death of a young man at the weekend.

The family of 14-year-old Will Jakins is being supported by the wider community in shock over the boy's death in a Brisbane hospital on Saturday.

Will tragically died of injuries sustained when he fell from a tractor on the family's property near Goondiwindi about 4.20pm Friday.

He had been helping to unload equipment from a trailer attached to the heavy machine when he was tragically run over.

He was airlifted to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital Friday afternoon in a critical condition.
