'Toy' gun used in hold-up

A MAN has attempted to rob a Hervey Bay pawn shop with what staff members described as a 'toy' gun.

A police spokesman said a man entered the Pialba Cash Traders about 6.10pm on Tuesday and pulled out what was believed to be a replica gun.

He demanded cash from the male staff member, who refused to hand over any money.

The offender then fled the Torquay Rd store.

Police are attempting to retrieve CCTV footage from the store.

A description of the offender has not been released.

Witnesses are asked to call police on 4123 8111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
