Tractor demonstrations return to Fraser Coast Show

FRASER Coast Show Society director Phil Scougall has pulled out all the stops with the return of the antique tractor display and show.

"We ran the antique tractor pulling show last year for the first time and there was quite a bit of interest in not only the demonstration but the antique tractors themselves," he said.

"People came up to me to congratulate us and said it was a really good show.

Phil has only made restoring antique tractors his hobby over the last five years.

"I always had an interest in the machines because I came off the farm. I have got a few Farmalls A's dating back to the forties.

"The earliest model I have in my collection is from the thirties and it was my father's before I was born.

"It was the reason I really got into collecting and restoring."

Tractors will come from all over the Wide Bay region including Bundaberg and Gympie.

Phil said they take their tractors up to shows in Bundaberg including Agrotrend.

"Some of the guys have Farmall M's and H's - so there will be a varying of sizes. There will also be some show pieces."

There will be several shows on Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25.
