Traditional blessing for canoes

THE FRASER Coast Outrigger Canoe Club held a blessing for the four new OC1 canoes they recently received with the help of the Hervey Bay RSL.

Keeping with tradition, the members of the club blessed the canoes, as they do with all their canoes, to ensure safe passage on the water and the safety of all who paddle in them.

Each club member then gave an offering in the form pf a flower and put a grain of salt under their tongues.
