Tributes flow for young Manly star

THE tributes rolled in for late Sea Eagles player Jason Annear on Facebook and Twitter yesterday.

Annear, 21, who played in the NSW Cup for Manly this season, fell to his death at the base of the headland separating Queenscliff and Freshwater after his club's annual presentation on Friday night.

Annear (pictured) was reportedly found in the suit he wore to the end-of-season event, which was held at nearby Manly Pacific Hotel.

The Manly club was devastated after his body was found on Sunday evening.

"Such a sad day for the Manly family. And everyone in the league world. A brother gone way too young. RIP Jason Annear," winger Michael Oldfield wrote on Twitter. A Facebook page named "RIP Jason Annear" was flooded with people who expressed their grief, attracting almost 13,000 "likes" by yesterday afternoon.

Manly trainer Stuart Ainis wrote: "So sad to hear such a young talented player ready to make first grade, playing in the reserves, he was very polite, kind and loved my massages before his game."
