Trio charged over violent Qld robbery

THREE people have been charged over the serious assault of a man in his home at Kallangur earlier this week. 

Detectives investigating the matter allege three people - a 26 year-old woman from Deception Bay, a 19 year-old an from Scarborough and 32 year-old Kallangur man were all involved in a home invasion on Wednesday. 

It will be alleged two women knocked on the front door of the Duffield Road residence around 10.20am while the 64-year-old man was at home.

While he was speaking with the women it will be alleged two men forced their way inside at the back of the house.

One of the men allegedly tied the man to a chair with masking tape and rubbed glue on his eyes. The man was then allegedly struck on the head with a spanner.

The group then allegedly stole a number of items from the house before fleeing in the man's vehicle, which was later located abandoned in Sylvan Court, Kallangur.

The man was transported to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.

The 26-year-old Deception Bay woman has been charged with six counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of serious assault, acts intended to maim, attempt to injure, torture, grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery, enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 19-year-old Scarborough man has been charged with six counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of torture, serious assault, acts intended to maim, grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, attempt to injure, armed robbery, enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 32-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with six counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of torture, serious assault, acts intended to maim, grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, attempt to injure, armed robbery, enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three are due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court onMarch 20.

Investigations are continuing.
