Tuberculosis tests for Hervey Bay Hospital staff, patients

HEALTH workers and patients who may have been in contact with a patient with tuberculosis at Hervey Bay Hospital are undergoing routine follow-up testing.

On October 8, a patient was admitted to a single room and later transferred to a Brisbane facility after he tested positive for tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection which can be treated appropriately with prescribed medications.
