Twenty20 vision for Coast fans
IF FRASER Coast cricket fans want something appealing to do tomorrow night, they should head to Bundaberg.
The Australian Cricketers' Association Masters All-Stars team will take on a Bundaberg Invitational team in a Twenty20 clash at Salter Oval at 5pm.
Some of Australia's finest players will be in action in the game.
Darren Lehmann, Greg Blewett, Jimmy Maher and Greg Ritchie are all in the awesome batting line-up, a line-up which also includes big hitting batsman/wicket-keeper Ryan Campbell.
As for the bowling attack, that will be led by former swing-king Terry Alderman.
Alderman, now aged 54, who played 41 Tests and 65 One Day Internationals, will share the ball with Andy Bichel, Michael Kasprowicz and Greg Campbell.
All-rounders Tom Moody and Greg Matthews complete the star-studded team.
Admission for adults is only $5 while children under-16 are free.
The game is first of a northern tour for the All-Stars team.
They will play another game in Gympie on Sunday.
One Fraser Coast fan who will be heading north is Maryborough's Trevor Parry, the Past Grammars A-grade coach.
He's determined to make the most of the visit, so much so that he'll be going to both games.
“Why wouldn't you if you love cricket,” Parry said.
“Sure they will be a little older and slower around the oval than they were, but hey, they are still greats of our game and I cannot wait to see them play.
“I am sure I won't be the only one either.”
The Maryborough Cricket Club is running a bus to the game in Gympie and still has a few seats left.
The cost is $15.
