Dogs await investigation

TWO DOMESTIC dogs that may be responsible for the deaths of up to 14 sheep in the Sunshine Acres area remain in the Hervey Bay animal pound as the Fraser Coast Regional Council continues to investigate.

The dogs were caught entering John McCarthy’s Condor Drive property this week.

The McCarthy’s neighbour, Peter Schuback, saw the dogs wandering and detained them in a pen on the property until council compliance officers arrived.

Mr McCarthy lost eight sheep to a dog attack last week, while the Caldwell family, who also live on Condor Drive, lost six sheep and a goat two weeks ago.

The dogs were identified as being the same dogs that chased sheep around a property neighbouring the McCarthys’ several weeks ago.
