Two prominent Fraser Coast events given a financial boost

TWO leading Fraser Coast events will benefit from a $35,000 funding boost from the Queensland Government.

The Mary Poppins Festival will receive $20,000 while the Hervey Bay Ocean Festival will receive $15,000.

The funding is made possible by the Queensland Destination Events Program.

Fraser Coast Tourism and Events acting general manager Bradley Nardi said the money will work to improve the Mary Poppins Festival's event program and increase intrastate marketing.

"We are looking forward to showcasing the event to increased visitor numbers in 2017, with an exciting program of land and water based events celebrating our unique marine ecosystems and famous wild catch seafood," she said.
