Ulysses club puts wheels in motion

THE COUNTDOWN to a Fraser Coast bid to bring the national meeting of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club to the region began in earnest yesterday when Mayor Mick Kruger set our bid on its way to Albany.

The Fraser Coast branch of the social club for older motorcyclists is up against Tamworth, Alice Springs and Mount Lindesay in the bid to host the 2013 annual meeting which has the potential to inject $10 million into the Fraser Coast economy.

The successful bid will be announced next Friday, March 12, with hopes high that the Fraser Coast can land the big one.

“With the size of the population and the depth of talent here, we’re in a position to go and bring the AGM here,” Fraser Coast Ulysses Club president Rob White said.
