Uniteds pull off upset to win GF

BREAKING: For the second consecutive year the Wallaroos have fallen at the final hurdle, losing to Uniteds 2-0 in the Maryborough and District Hockey women's division one grand final.

Early goals by Morgan Stephensen and Naomi Lynch was enough to help Uniteds to beat raging favourites, the Wallaroos, who lost to Tinana in last year's decider.

Uniteds coach Cheryll Brown said she was extremely proud of her side.

"The girls are pretty excited and deserved to be," she said.

"We really marked Belinda Kenny (Wallaroos skipper) which was important and I think we had a little bit more up front."
