Car thief steals number plates

A MAN who took his housemate’s car without permission and then stole his girlfriend’s brother’s number plates to attach to the vehicle has appeared in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on seven charges.

When Harley Matthew Enniss, 17, was stopped by police on December 12, he admitted he’d never held a licence and that he’d stolen the number plate.

Ennis was further charged with wilful damage for smashing windows at a Maryborough house during a dispute over a TV remote control.

He was put on 12 months probation and was disqualified from driving for six months. He was also fined $1250.
