Unruly youths spoil Challenge

A FEW unruly youths spoiled the fun for others enjoying the Maryborough Technology Challenge on Saturday night.

The Child Protection Investigation Unit is looking into the assault and robbery of a teenage boy on Sussex Street about 6.20pm.

The victim, a 14-year-old Maryborough boy, was allegedly confronted by two older teenagers.

He was then assaulted by a 16-year-old Maryborough boy and had several personal items stolen out of his backpack.

The victim was taken to Maryborough Hospital.

Several hours later an 18-year-old Tinana woman had personal items stolen from out of her vehicle parked near the intersection of Rocky and Sussex Street.

Two suspects have been identified as a Zillmere boy, 16, and a Maryborough boy, 13.

The boys were seen by witnesses walking along Sussex Street and checking car doors to see if they were unlocked.

In an unrelated incident, an Alice Street resident reported a garden ornament was stolen from her yard on Saturday night.
