Up to 20 front-line Ergon jobs go in Wide Bay region
THE ELECTRICAL Trades Union says 15-20 front-line jobs have been cut from Ergon in the Wide Bay region, out of 1200 believed to be cut across electrical services in the past year.
ETU state organiser said Energy Minister Mark McArdle confirmed the cuts, including 690 overall job losses in Ergon.
The 15-20 Wide Bay job losses did not include other positions such as meter readers.
"We know there have been significant cuts in that area," an ETU spokesman said.
