Urangan man charged after drug raid

A 38-YEAR-OLD Urangan man has been charged with production of a dangerous drug and possession of a dangerous drug after a police raid on a Cunningham Street home yesterday.

Hervey Bay Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant on the address yesterday morning, where an alleged methylamphetamine lab was in operation.

A police spokesman said the CIB found a suspicious substance cooking on the stove and called the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team to investigate.

While a number of people from the house were detained yesterday, only one man was charged after the police interviews were completed last night.

The man is expected to face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on June 30.
