Urangan High School students limber up for fun run

URANGAN State High students are stretching their limbs in anticipation for tomorrow's fundraising fun-run.

For weeks students have been out in the community seeking sponsorship for the Adidas School Fun-Run which will raise money to fund equipment for the school's newly developed Dingoes Sports Academy.

The academy was introduced this year as a way of encouraging kids to get active by teaching them skills across a range of sports and holds regular fitness sessions during school hours.

Peter Abra from Urangan State High School said the event presented an excellent platform to get students excited about physical activity.

"This is the third year we've had the fun run but this is by far the best support and best following we've had, " he said.

"One student, Paxton Heard, has raised more than $700 for the school, which is just great."
