A MAN'S ute has been impounded in Hervey Bay after police allegedly found drugs in vehicle.

A Hervey Bay police spokesman confirmed the 30-year-old man was intercepted about 11pm on Thursday near Susan River on the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Rd.

Due to the man allegedly driving without a licence, with a history of previous unlicensed driving offences, the car was impounded in Hervey Bay.

The spokesman said police also found a quantity of drugs in the ute.

He was given a notice to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court for the charges of repeat unlicensed driving and possessing dangerous drugs.
