Vandals damage small Mary Poppins statue trying to steal it

POLICE are asking for public assistance in tracking down vandals who attempted to steal a small bronze Mary Poppins statue from Adelaide St.

While the larger statue on Richmond St remains unscathed, police said a smaller statue on Adelaide St had been damaged on November 10 between 9.35pm and 9.41pm.

The offenders kicked and damaged the fixture, but were ultimately unsuccessful in their efforts to steal it.
