Veteran of army and airforce takes parade salute at Howard

MORE than 100 people  turned out for the main Anzac Day service at Howard on Friday morning.

Veterans, school students, community clubs and Member for Maryborough Anne Madden joined together for the second service of the day.

Ken Crockford, 88, had the honour of talking the salute during the parade.

He served in both the airforce and the army in the Second World War as well as in Korea and Malayasia.

The Hervey Bay RSL pipe band led the parade.

Bay Power earns first win of the season

FIRST WIN: Bay Power earned its first win of the AFL Wide Bay Womens season.

The Power won 4.4-28 - 2.1-13.

School students help run event

HELPING HAND: Urangan High students Phoebe Hasted and Galaxzy Oti.

It will contribute towards their qualification.
