Veterans the guests of honour at Granville school parade

TO MARK the 100 years since the declaration of the First World War, Granville State School hosted an Anzac parade on Thirsday.

The school community invited veterans Buddy Lea and Harry Smith as well as Robert Evans from Maryborough RSL to address the crowd of close to 300 people made up of students and parents.

Wreaths were laid around the school's cenotaph before The Last Post was played, followed by a minute of silence.

A highlight of the event saw members of the Granville school choir perform alongside members of Maryborough High School.
