Esplanade development worth $20 million set to go
PART of the team who helped to get the Peppers Pier Resort off the ground will play a key role in the construction and sale of a $20 million Esplanade development.
The site, opposite Hervey Bay's Shelly Beach, will feature 50 homes, with the first stage of 11 villas to be built immediately, with prices starting at about $260,000.
Family-owned development company Kabita is behind the Seahaven Beach Villas project, appointing Win Constructions as builders.
Peppers Pier Resort's Ric and Simone King, of Lifestyle Realty, are also involved.
Mr King said there was nothing comparable in the region and, as such, the market demand would be high.
"Our confidence is such that the developers have agreed to build the first stage straight away," Mr King said.
"That will allow people to make definite plans to downsize and move in by Christmas."
Included in the development will be 37 compact, single-level villas and 13 beachfront townhouses.
Kabita director Nils Dansky said the launch of Seahaven Beach Villas capped 10 years of patient planning.
"We bought the site because of its outstanding position, northerly aspect and ocean views," Mr Dansky said.
"It had been vacant for a decade while we explored options and, after the market has swung through highs and lows, we have been careful to design something people really want, but just isn't available."
