Vote for Bauple progress group

THE Bauple community will meet tomorrow night to decide whether or not they will create their own progress association.

Organiser George Wood said if formed, the progress association would give the community a chance to participate in the consultation process with the Fraser Coast Regional Council and other levels of government.

"This is an opportunity for community members to have direct input into the future of our town," he said.

Mr Wood said nominations for an association committee and executive positions would be called for if the community voted yes.

A draft of the progress association constitution is available at the Bauple Museum or online at bauple.com.

Councillor Phil Truscott will chair the meeting at the Bauple Band Hall from 7pm.

Councillor George Seymour is also expected to attend in his role in the communities portfolio.

The need for Bauple Progress Association was identified almost two years ago after council-led workshops in the community.
