IT WAS bound to end in heartbreak for one Fraser Coast club but Wallaroos and Maryborough Brothers put on an attacking clinic in their Bundaberg Rugby League under-18s minor semi-final battle.
An astonishing 82 points were scored in the highly entertaining clash, but Wallaroos' A-grade experience shone through in the eventual 44-38 win.
Wallaroos coach Scott Robertson was happy with how his side defended, but paid Maryborough Brothers the ultimate compliment.
"I want to congratulate Brothers, they've had an awesome season," Robertson said.
"To not have 16s last year to that, it's a full credit to the club."
In a post-game huddle, Robertson told his troops their season starts Tuesday night at training.
"We always thought we'd be good enough to be here, and now we've got to go the next step," he said.
"We've got a few injuries but we'll turn up and have a shot."
Wallaroos will face Hervey Bay Seagulls in the preliminary final, who fell 18-16 to Past Brothers in the major semi-final.
