Warm up with exercise this winter

FOR most, winter is an excuse to stay inside and lie in the comfort of your bed, putting the motivation to stay fit on hold.

In winter it's easier to slack off as the days are shorter, the temperature is cooler and your motivation is difficult to find.

The reality is that in order to maintain your hard worked for 'summer body,' you cannot put off exercise, as maintaining fitness is an around the clock effort.

Adopting a new training program, perhaps indoors, is definitely recommended to maintain your fitness and wellbeing.

So how can you keep yourself motivated in winter?

Here are five ideas that will keep you fit and healthy throughout the coldest months of the year.

Tip one - take up yoga.

Yoga is a great way to enhance core strength and improve posture.

It also helps release stress and relax the mind.

You can invest in yoga DVDs or sign up to a yoga class at your local yoga studio.

Tip two - hit up the gym.

You don't have to be a body building gym junkie to benefit from the gym.

The gym is a great place to stay fit and active inside while the cold months pass by.

Tip three - if indoor training just isn't for you, invest in some warm running clothes.

Keeping warm while running or exercising outside is extremely important as it may prevent you from catching a nasty cold.

Tip four - join a dancing studio.

Dancing can be a great activity to pursue for something new and fun to explore.

It is also is a great way to maintain fitness as it is extremely physical.

Tip five; make sure you keep your eye on the prize.

Take time to remember why you worked so hard in the summer months.

Being fit is a full time commitment and must be maintained all year round to create a happier and healthier you.

If you adapt to one of these methods, you'll be sure to keep your summer body right through winter.
