Large water pipe bursts

THOUSANDS of litres of water went to waste yesterday after a water pipe burst near the highway in Maryborough.

The water gushed across the road and into nearby gutters on Five Mile East Road and was still flowing at the time of going to press.

A spokesperson for Wide Bay Water said the pipe was not owned by the corporation and was likely used for irrigation.
