What you should do if a kangaroo attacks
FRASER Coast Wildlife Sanctuary curator Ray Revill said there was a step one could take to minimise harm when a kangaroo attacks following the recent incident with a toddler.
"Your best bet is to drop to the ground in a submission position, like a ball, and the kangaroo won't be interested," Mr Revill said.
"When two male kangaroos are fighting, one will give up and go into a submission position."
Anyone with concerns regarding a mob near their house is welcome to give Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary a ring on 4122 2080.
"I can come down and have a look," Mr Revill said.
However, Mr Revill said the kangaroo attack in Point Vernon on Tuesday was an extremely rare occurrence.
